Celebrating Emily’s senior year with a breathtaking photoshoot in the Outer Banks! For over a year, Sarah Hilts Photography eagerly anticipated capturing Emily’s senior portraits. Emily, a senior at John A. Holmes High School in Edenton, NC, is not only an accomplished student but also a dedicated member of her school’s tennis team and a former graduation Marshall.
Emily’s senior session was thoughtfully divided into two parts due to unexpected rain. The first session began under warm, overcast skies, allowing us to capture half of her portraits. The rescheduled day, however, was absolutely perfect. We commenced at the picturesque Pirates Cove, utilizing the charming boats as a backdrop, before venturing to the stunning landscapes of Jockey Ridge State Park. It was at Jockey Ridge where some truly exceptional images were captured. These sun-drenched photos, while a departure from Sarah Hilts Photography’s typical style, are undeniably captivating. Our final destination was the beloved Coquina Beach in the Outer Banks, a consistent favorite for senior sessions. Coquina Beach, with its golden hour and breathtaking sunsets, provided the perfect setting for the remainder of Emily’s session, resulting in a gallery filled with stunning photographs.
Beyond the lens, Emily holds a special place as Sarah Hilts’s cousin. From introducing her to MTV to sharing fun moments trying on hats and glasses, Emily was also Sarah’s very first model, playing an important role in the early stages of her photography business. Sarah’s pride in Emily’s growth into a kind, beautiful young woman is immense, and being part of her senior session was a true honor. The excitement is palpable for all of Emily’s achievements in her senior year and beyond into college.
